A lot about living the good life is mental; when I say good, I mean this figuratively. You have to start training your mind, the way athletes train for competitions. Get rid of all the things that don’t contribute to your journey, the excessive carbs, the alcohol, the drugs- Well, in this case, negativity and hopelessness, avoid it like a plague baby. Focus on the things you need to feed your mind, you have to be careful what you import into your mind, That is your power box.
Quit thinking the world is against you or stuck in a victim mindset or thinking someone is coming to save you, I was going to say, well, except the Lord Jesus but even the Lord said the heavens help those who help themselves. Nobody is coming to save you baby, you better stand up. You’re strong enough and you have what it takes. There's not an opportune moment to embrace positivity, initiate new beginnings, or finally start feeling good. I am not saying you should not feel your feelings when they are not so positive, feel your feelings, cry if need be but the key is never to be hopeless, DO NOT ALLOW hopelessness live within you. Radiate such positive energy that even negativity recoils in fear of your strength.
I hate feeling incompetent, and sometimes I get this feeling as one does, and start to question myself. There are also times I feel jealousy BUT I always snap myself out of it, and redirect my thoughts, remembering the difference between you and the great person you envy, is knowledge or luck and of course hard work. You can not control your luck, so let's focus on what we can control, knowledge and hard work. You can learn from anywhere but we all know reading is vital to being knowledgeable. Start reading! Learn more about everything, every piece of information is relevant. Reading expands your mind, enhancing your self-awareness and understanding of both yourself and the world around you. Your grasp of life's concepts and ideas becomes more elevated and girl, the feeling of achievement is astonishing.
Another takeaway from this blog post is, to learn to question your feelings and I mean this LITERALLY. Ask yourself questions
What am I feeling?
Why am I feeling this?
What is the root cause of this feeling?
I had seen a post on the clock app, but I don’t remember the details fully, I believe it was of a man being interviewed, he had said, If you are given big numbers to calculate, you would most likely request for a pen and paper to write down the figures and then come to a solution. Just as you'd need to jot down numbers to comprehend them, writing things down is crucial for understanding and unraveling the complexities within yourself and finding solutions. Journaling is a powerful tool for introspection and problem-solving in one's journey. So start journaling!
Might I mention also, that we’ve seen the great babes of our generation say they don’t dwell in their misery. Successful people do not have time to wallow!
Bey said she gives herself a day to feel sorry for herself, of course, she feels fatigue, sadness, and not-so-positive emotions sometimes, but my girl has work to do and she knows it.
Riri had also said she pretends on days she doesn’t feel her best- a TikTok sound that we all rinsed-, but I hope everyone picked the message intended there.
I am not encouraging you to become an avoider, I am saying, FEEL YOUR FEELINGS, but do not wallow. You have work to do, to get to where you want and need to be. The world needs you. In the most trivial way you could imagine, you can change the world.
